Director, Membership Development (New York City)

High energy support for the overall strategy and plan of membership growth and retention of WGNinHR members.  This is a leadership role driving the recruitment and engagement of members to sustain satisfaction and enlarge the membership base.

  • Develop a recruitment plan to support the objective of significant growth of the membership base

  • Research potential members

  • Cultivate relationships with potential members; collect member intelligence through interactions and research

  • Maintain strong working relationships with members to increase interactions and encourage participation in WGNinHR offerings.  This includes frequent contact through phone, e-mail and official WGNinHR communications

  • Deliver a “welcome” program to new members in order inspire excitement and enthusiasm about the WGNinHR movement

  • Coordinate and promote members’ activities in the various membership platforms – i.e. website, newsletters, etc.

  • Understand members’ needs and priorities; recommend additional offerings for review and approval

  • Collaborate closely with Founder/CEO of WGNinHR to develop and drive the membership strategy in line with the WGNinHR vision and direction

  • (Future) Establish and lead a local membership presence through Meetups or other organizing vehicles

 

 

Program Director (2 positions - New York City)

Dynamic leadership of a (Coaching, Mentorship, or other) programmatic area for WGNinHR.  This role is responsible for the creative development and advancement of core program offerings for members of this innovative organization. 

 

  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the membership programs for WGNinHR (Coaching Lab, Mentoring Program, Other)

  • Develop communication strategies, operating plans and toolkits to support the program

  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement

  • Develop funding and/or partnership proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of services

  • Develop forms and records to document program activities

  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the members of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization

  • In consultation with the Founder/CEO, recruit, interview and select well-qualified volunteer program staff

  • Engage volunteers for appropriate program activities using established volunteer management practices

  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback

  • Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation according to an established program evaluation framework

  • Report evaluation findings to the Founder/CEO and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate

 

 

Board Positions Available (New York Based): October 2015

 

Membership and Program Chair 

  • Serves as a voting Member of the Board

  • Partners with Founder/President and Board Chairman to set the strategic direction and tone for the membership growth and program offerings of WGNinHR

  • Recruits and onboards Program Committee staff who are aligned with the mission and strategies of WGNinHR

  • (Future) Oversees the logistics of Committee meetings and operations

  • (Future) Assigns work to the Committee members, sets the agenda and runs the meetings, ensures distribution of meeting minutes, and reports to the full board on all decisions and recommendations

  • (Future) Initiates and leads the committee's annual evaluation

 

Board Members (2 positions)

  • Serves as a voting Member of the Board

  • Regularly attends board meetings and important related meetings

  • Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time

  • Stays informed about issues and trends in general business, the field of HR and WGNinHR matters

  • Prepares for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports

  • Builds a collegial working relationship with Board colleagues 

  • Generously shares contacts and networks for the advancement of the WGNinHR mission

  • Is an active participant in the Board's annual evaluation and planning efforts
